Chapter 443 - 450: Which Room Is It In?
Emily Berns didn’t enter the bathroom. The entanglement between her and James Brown, though making her resent James for many years, left even herself at a loss to explain her mindset. Sometimes, while alone, she would reflect on whether she had been too impulsive in giving birth to this child for James.
Although she occasionally reflected on this, she didn’t regret it. She was a stubborn girl—once she’d made a choice, even if it was a mistake, she wouldn’t look back. Every time she faced hardship or difficulties, she would think of James, that bastard, and vow to get her revenge on him. This belief had stayed with her all these years.
But now, faced with James again, she suddenly realized she didn’t truly hate him. It felt just like when they were together in the past, when she used to tease him or bicker with him—simply trying to attract his attention.
"Hey, hey! Do you have any men’s clothes here?" After who knows how long, Emily heard James calling her from the bathroom.
"What a joke. There’s no man in my house, so why would I have men’s clothes?" Emily walked to the bathroom door, grinning mischievously. "How about I grab a couple of my clothes for you? You can make do with them?"
"I don’t intend to cross-dress. If you don’t have anything, forget it. Lucky for me, I enjoy sleeping naked. Hey, hey, I’m coming out now."
"Come out then! It’s not like I haven’t seen it before." Emily said this, but quickly turned her head away.
The bathroom door opened, and James poked his head out. Seeing Emily with her head turned, he chuckled and said, "Why are you still here? I’m really going to come out."
Without turning back, Emily shouted, "Come out then! Stop yapping so much. The second room on the sunny side upstairs is your room."
James responded casually, "It looks like that’s not your bedroom. So after all these years apart, you’re not sleeping in the same room as me? What a buzzkill."
"Get lost!" Emily roared.
