The Supreme Soldier in the City

Seated on the plane heading back, James Brown was still in the middle, with Gina Lopez and Emily Lopez on his left and right, respectively.

As soon as Gina Lopez got on the plane, she remained silent, while Emily Lopez kept chatting with James nonstop with a giggly smile. Though it was mostly her talking and James only occasionally threw in a word or two, Emily’s spirits were still very high.

"Brother-in-law, this time you really are my brother-in-law, huh?"

"Yeah, you kept calling me that, and now it’s actually come true."

Emily Lopez gave a mischievous smile and said, "Brother-in-law, you have to be nicer to me from now on. I’ve put so much effort into getting you and my sister together."

"Is that so?" James Brown looked at Emily Lopez with a puzzled expression, while Gina Lopez also turned her gaze towards Emily.

Emily Lopez spoke proudly, "I knew my sister; even if you pursued her, she wouldn’t be moved. Other than her career, she sees nothing else. That’s why I said I liked you and wanted to date you. Then she would be afraid to get together with you, worrying about how to explain it at home, and would thus get together with you herself. Could you two be together without my efforts?"

Although James Brown had sensed Emily Lopez’s intention, now that she said it out loud, he couldn’t help but be caught between laughter and tears.

Gina Lopez, on the other hand, felt an indescribable emotion inside. She had always seen her sister as someone unambitious, always looking to take advantage of her and never growing up, but she hadn’t expected that this time Emily had done everything for her. She felt moved, yet it also made her feel strange to be tied to James Brown like this.

Emily Lopez then boasted, "So, I am basically your matchmaker. You can’t just forget about me after you enter your bridal chamber."

James Brown felt both annoyed and amused, saying, "Alright, alright, I’ll definitely be grateful to you, my little auntie."
