Chapter 251 - 255: Having Friends
The phone calls seem to be plentiful today. No sooner had Emma Campbell hung up than James Brown’s cell phone rang again. It was a call from Helen Wilson. James Brown casually answered the call, and Helen Wilson’s annoyed voice came through immediately: "James Brown, you ass, I’m starving to death."
James Brown was stunned for a moment, a sense of frustration washing over him. In the busyness of today’s events, he had forgotten about Helen Wilson - he hadn’t gone over after work, and since Wilson was still healing at home with limited mobility, missing this day meant he hadn’t taken care of her, and she probably hadn’t eaten yet.
"I had too much going on at the office today, and I’ve only just finished. I’ll be right over."
"You ass, you definitely forgot about me."
"Hehe, how could I? How could I forget about you? Wait for me, I’ll be there in less than twenty minutes."
After James Brown ended the call, he quickly donned his clothes and dashed out of the house, then picked up some fast food before heading to Helen Wilson’s place.
Helen Wilson was lying on the bed inside the room, wearing pajamas on top and covered with a towel blanket on the bottom. She turned her head to glare at James Brown, but it seemed rather weak.
James Brown sat down beside Helen Wilson and swiftly set up the fast food, saying, "Hungry, huh? Eat quickly."
Helen Wilson humphed without saying much, picked up the chopsticks, and began eating. Having been preoccupied with arguing with James Brown in the morning, she hadn’t eaten much, and now it had gotten to this point. How could she not be hungry? She wouldn’t have called him if she hadn’t been desperately hungry.
After wolfing down the fast food James Brown had brought, Helen Wilson drank some water, finally feeling content, and said, "What kind of care is this? You don’t bring me lunch and even skip out on dinner."
James Brown chuckled and replied, "I wanted you to understand the importance of food. Look at you, you just threw away those delicious meat buns this morning so carelessly. I bet you won’t be wasting food again after being hungry like this."
