The Supreme Soldier in the City

Chapter 247 - 250: Maintenance

Several people were talking when the door was suddenly knocked. James Brown shouted to come in, and the door opened. Charlotte Davis, the manager of L Hotel, came in with some police officers, accompanied by Christopher Taylor and those two men.

Seeing the police enter, Gina Lopez, Melody Yoody, and Sunny Nguyen all frowned slightly, and they were also somewhat confused, while Alice Brown seemed a bit panicked at this moment. Clearly, Christopher Taylor bringing the police was directly targeting James Brown and her.

"That’s the guy, take him away for me!" Christopher Taylor, upon seeing James Brown, immediately barked angrily.

The police officers immediately rushed towards James Brown, but Charlotte Davis, the manager, quickly stretched out her arms to stop the police, wearing a professional smile, said, "Mayor Johnson, is there some kind of misunderstanding here?"

Christopher Taylor snorted, "This guy hit me, what misunderstanding could there be? Better step aside, or I’ll arrest you too."

Charlotte Davis then said firmly but respectfully: "Mayor Johnson, I’m a nobody, whether you arrest me or not is just a matter of words for you. However, since our hotel opened, nothing like this has ever occurred. Now you want to make an arrest inside our hotel, doesn’t seem quite appropriate, does it?"

Christopher Taylor furrowed his brows. He had been too impulsive just now, and suddenly realized that L Hotel is no ordinary establishment. It’s backed by a deputy mayor of the city. A deputy mayor alone would be nothing, but what’s most crucial is that the hotel is also owned by a family, a family that is not inferior to the Brownie Family, possibly even more influential. He couldn’t afford to disregard that.

Glancing at Charlotte Davis, Christopher Taylor said gravely, "This matter doesn’t concern your establishment; it’s only about this guy."

Charlotte Davis smiled faintly, "Mayor Johnson, regarding your personal grievances, I have no right to intervene. But whoever comes to my hotel to dine, they are my guests, and I must be responsible for my guests. I cannot let my guest be taken away by police, unless he is indeed some sort of fugitive."

Christopher Taylor’s face darkened, "So he gets to hit me for free?"

With a light laugh, Charlotte Davis said, "We’re all just having a little fun here, why take it so seriously, Mayor Johnson? How about this – we’ll take care of your outfit, and also, your bill today will be on the house. How does that sound?"
