"What is it?" Helen Wilson was already somewhat numb by now, knowing full well that whatever James Brown was about to remind her of would embarrass her, yet she still briskly asked.
"You haven’t had a boyfriend before, right?"
"No!"
"So, you definitely haven’t had any intimate contact with other men either?"
Helen Wilson replied irritably, "Of course not, I haven’t even had a boyfriend, how could I have been intimate with anyone?"
"That’s the point, you lack experience in this area. Surely we can’t just wing it when we meet your parents, right? Shouldn’t we... practice... practice beforehand?"
"What? We need to practice this as well?" Helen Wilson’s eyes widened with both anger and embarrassment.
"It’s just a reminder. I’ve agreed to help you, and naturally, I want to handle this matter as successfully as possible to avoid any slip-ups. I should be fine with improvising since I have a girlfriend and have been with quite a few women before. If you’re confident you can improvise well, then it’s not a problem."
Helen Wilson’s face twisted uncomfortably as James Brown’s words really hit a sore spot. Not having had a boyfriend was now something shameful for her, while James Brown, this bastard who had been with so many women, seemed to be proud of it.
