Chapter 181 Gina Lopez’s Counterattack
"What... what are you going to do?" Gina Lopez suddenly panicked and stuttered, "This is... the office."
James Brown’s gaze softened as he looked at Gina Lopez, becoming tender as water, his voice carrying a seductive magnetism as he spoke earnestly, "Gina, I never expected you to think this way. Gina Lopez stared at James Brown with wide eyes filled with fear, her face pale, almost twisting away to run.
James Brown’s hands, however, suddenly pressed down on Gina Lopez’s shoulders, preventing her from running away, and at that moment James Brown continued, "I truly didn’t expect that you felt the same about me. "Ah!" Gina Lopez suddenly screamed, her body jolting upright so fiercely that she knocked over the high-backed boss chair. She waved her arms, tore James Brown’s arms away, and like a startled rabbit, she hid by the window.
"Gina, what’s gotten into you? Didn’t you say you wanted me for your husband? You wouldn’t deceive me, would you?" James Brown instantly revealed a shocked expression, which quickly turned into one of utmost misery. Shaking his head, he said, "The underdog’s counterattack, those are all stories from novels. I’m sorry, I’m leaving."
With those words, James Brown walked toward the door as if he’d lost his soul.
Just as he pulled open the door, he bumped head-on into Sunny Nguyen. Sunny saw James’s saddened expression and jumped in fright, asking urgently, "What happened to you?"
James Brown sighed, shook his head, and replied, "It’s nothing, I’m fine." Then he passed by Sunny and walked down the stairs.
Sunny Nguyen thought to follow him but stopped. Instead, she entered Gina Lopez’s office and casually closed the door. However, as soon as she saw Gina Lopez standing by the window, her hands on her chest still looking utterly unsettled, Sunny became even more confused and quickly approached Gina, asking, "Gina, what happened between you two?"
Hearing Sunny Nguyen’s voice, Gina Lopez finally came to her senses, shivered, and looked around the office, asking, "Has that guy left?"
