"I shouldn’t show my face anymore, Gina Lopez is my boss, and you know it. How can I go and sign a contract with her now?"

James Brown immediately voiced his strong opposition.

"Really, do you have feelings for Gina Lopez?" Lucy Campbell asked with a sly smile.

James Brown immediately shook his head, "Not at all, I’m just her driver."

"Then that settles it. You have nothing to do with her, so what are you afraid of?"

"It’s not that I’m afraid, but ever since I retired from Hawk Squad, I’ve wanted to live a calm and peaceful life. Meeting strangers is one thing, but meeting people I know in such a capacity would certainly disrupt my peace. I absolutely cannot agree to this."

Lucy Campbell chuckled lightly, "I’m just kidding. I’ll tell the truth to Gina Lopez that you are here just to ensure my safety, and by extension, hers as well. Eventually, I’m going to hand over complete management of my company to Gina Lopez. As a top executive, she will naturally need to attend many events. Those wealthy heirs will surely have designs on her. As her friend, don’t you want to look out for her safety?"

"This isn’t entirely off the table, but I still feel more at ease being a driver."

"I understand. You would only need to appear at some important events. Otherwise, within the company, you can do whatever you want. If you prefer to be a driver, then be a driver. I could also use your help to drive me around occasionally, so I wouldn’t need to have bodyguards."

James Brown sighed, knowing that he had no choice but to agree. It wasn’t that he was afraid of Lucy Campbell; now it was a personal request from her. If she hadn’t asked him, higher-ups, knowing that he was here, would certainly assign him some role in protecting Lucy Campbell anyway.
