Chapter 1015 - 329: Are we doomed? We have just begun! (Request for monthly tickets!)
The trade involving Marcus Camby has finally made some progress. The Seattle SuperSonics are willing to trade Ukrainian center Vitali Potapenko and Serbian forward Vladimir Radmanovic for Camby.
Vladimir Radmanovic’s role is too similar to that of Rashard Lewis, as both are rare stretch-fours of this era, which the SuperSonics no longer need.
As for Vitali Potapenko, although his stats are average, he’s at least a tough inside player that the Warriors can make some use of. At worst, he can be used to commit a few fouls against Shaq and Duncan.
Bob Bass is still debating whether to make this trade; to be honest, he feels that neither of these pieces is all that good.
But at least it’s more sincere than some fringe elements and second-round draft picks.
The huge obstacle in the trade made Marcus Camby take the initiative to break the impasse. On the day of the game with the Pacers, at noon, Camby approached Roger: "I hope you can put me back in the main roster, let me show some performance so that teams would be willing to trade for me. I promise I won’t cause you any trouble, I only need to play ten or so minutes per game. All of this is just to make my trade go through more smoothly."
After listening, Roger’s look at Marcus Camby could already be described as disdainful: "Playing just to get traded faster? Get lost, Marcus, don’t talk to me."
"Roger, I don’t have any issues with you. Even when you kicked me, I never caused you any trouble, nor did I talk nonsense to the media. I just don’t want to play in the Bay Area anymore, that’s all. There’s no need for you to mess with me on purpose."
"On purpose? You dare use that word in front of me? When we were fighting a tough battle with the San Antonio Spurs, who was the one who deliberately wasted our efforts?"
"You’re quite something, blaming a role player when you lose the game."
