Chapter 162: Arrived at Graystone House
Soon enough, their car reaches Graystone’s main house.
Alex parked the car in the front yard and then turned to her, holding her hand gently.
He didn’t rush to speak or exit the vehicle; instead, he gazed at her silently.
After a brief pause, Alex finally broke the silence.
"Still, I need to apologize for making you sad—"
A frown crosses her forehead as she hears his self-blame. "Don’t say that, Alex. That’s not your fault. Besides, I’ll be meeting him here, too, right?"
"Oh, I have an idea. What if I tell him to take a vacation and stay away from the house while we’re here?" Alex’s suggestion earns her a glaring look.
How could he think that? She agreed to visit this house because of her father. It would be pointless if her father were away.
"Please don’t do that, Alex! I would feel grateful if I could talk to him."
She smiled at him, but her smile began to fade as Sophia Morrison appeared behind the main entrance door.
"Alex, we should leave now. Your mother is already aware of our arrival." She gestured for him to look at the house.
