The day flew by in the blink of an eye! Just as Aurora wrapped up her tasks, Alex called her, making it a perfect moment to end the day.
"You seem busy. Did Patrick overload you with too many assignments?" Alex’s concerned voice came from the other end, prompting Aurora to smile as she powered down her computer.
She wasn’t busy with Patrick’s tasks; instead, she was preoccupied with her own matters and dealing with Renata, who had been bothering her all day.
After almost two months of being reborn as Aurora Spencer, having someone she could talk to as her true self made her feel better.
"Yeah, I’m finished. Well, he didn’t give me more work today. And he seems preoccupied with something and forgot to assign any assignment to me."
Aurora genuinely answered. She had already completed all the tasks Patrick assigned her, and there were no further follow-up tasks.
"How about you? Are you still swamped with your work? Would you like to head home with me or go alone?"
"Can you come upstairs? Please wait for me at the penthouse. I will soon finish this boring job!" Alex’s annoyed tone was enough to make Aurora laugh.
This was the complete opposite of the man she knew in her past life. Alex, in the past, loved to work rather than spend time with his ex-wives.
"Absolutely, I’ll go upstairs and wait for you. There’s no hurry with your work, Alex. I’m completely fine spending time in your penthouse," Aurora replied playfully, attempting to reassure him.
