Chapter 121: She Agreed!
Following his confession, the atmosphere became more awkward, especially for Aurora.
She felt uncertain about how to act around him.
When Alex begins to make physical contact, it makes her feel even more uncomfortable.
At first, Aurora didn’t care about holding hands with Alex. However, after learning that he was open to any possibilities about their marriage—including making it real, not just a contract marriage—she felt a storm raging in her heart every time their hands touched.
Her rigid response whenever he attempted to get closer, was noticeable enough for Alex to see it.
"I apologize, Aurora..." His gentle tone made her turn to him.
Aurora noticed him sitting upright; he had stopped trying to corner her against the end of the sofa.
There was a space between them, even though it wasn’t too far.
She could see the distress in his expression as he ran his hand through his hair while leaning back on the sofa and gazing at the ceiling above.
"Why are you apologizing?" Aurora asked, puzzled as she noticed his mood drop once more.
"I’m so excited about our marriage that I forgot to ask your opinion. I was being selfish, Aurora. I owe you an apology," he said, avoiding her gaze. She could tell he was intentionally not making eye contact with her.
