Chapter 26: Steamy and it’s not just the hot water
Wise was what one would call a bathhouse enthusiast. In his last life, the first time he traveled to Asia he ended up spending far too much time in bathhouses.
Bathhouses were God’s gift to mankind, the most relaxing, soothing and healing experience one could ever dream of.
Wise stepped into the building and glanced around. The interior of the bathhouse was a little different from what he was used to but fundamentally the same.
"Bathhouse?" Asked Esme, watching the place with curiosity. "Like a place for bathing?"
Wise walked toward the counter while answering her question. "Yes, but it is more than that, you soak up the hot water while relaxing."
It was Freya’s turn to be confused. "So we’ll be slowly... cooking?"
"Exactly!" Wise replied. They were now at the counter but there was no one there so he knocked gently on the wood.
"You’re not making any sense," Esme complained. "Why is it called a bathhouse if you just soak in your own filth?"
Wise shook his head. "You wash your bodies first before you soak in the water."
Daphne sighed. "Then why go back in if you’ve already washed?"
"Um—" Wise was at a loss for words.
