Jiang’s mother had been busy in the kitchen for quite a while, and finally, when she was nearly done, she instructed the maid,
"Sister-in-law Li, help me watch the stove, I’m going to call those two girls."
"Alright, Madam."
Jiang’s mother untied her apron as she came out of the kitchen.
As she passed through the living room and saw several men of the family chatting together, she didn’t disturb them and went straight upstairs.
When she reached the door, she didn’t enter right away but knocked instead,
"Jing, Jing?" She also called out a couple of times.
Lu Jing came forward to open the door,
"Aunt Su?"
Jiang’s mother stood outside the door with a smile,
"Come down to eat something, I just made it."
"Okay."
