Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System

Chapter 677: Male Lead

The instant she saw Spencer’s face, she froze. For a brief moment, she completely forgot to breathe. ’How...’

Her eyes widened. ’How can someone be this handsome?’

Even in her current situation, she couldn’t help wondering, ’Why isn’t this man the male lead instead?’

Ignoring Shay completely, Spencer strode directly toward Aurora. Without saying a word, he took out a pair of specially designed earplugs and gently placed them into Aurora’s ears.

Only after making sure they were secure did he crouch beside her. His usually cold eyes were now filled with unmistakable worry.

Softly, he asked, "Aurora..."

His voice was unusually gentle. "...are you alright?"

Aurora simply blinked. She stared blankly ahead without responding.

Her eyes looked empty, almost as though her soul had momentarily left her body.

Seeing that, Spencer’s heart immediately tightened. He slowly turned toward Shay.

The warmth in his eyes vanished instantly. What replaced it was pure killing intent.

His voice became frighteningly cold. "What did you do to my girlfriend?"

He took one slow step forward. "Why isn’t she responding? Listen carefully. The Brown family losing its wealth isn’t a big deal. But if anything happens to Aurora... you’ll lose far more than money."

Then he quietly finished, "...you’ll lose your life."

The overwhelming pressure in his voice made Shay’s entire body tremble uncontrollably. Even while sitting in the chair, she instinctively pushed herself backward.

She desperately wanted to increase the distance between herself and Spencer. She had never been this terrified of another person before.

Meanwhile, Spencer completely ignored her. His attention returned entirely to Aurora.

Very gently, he brushed a few loose strands of hair away from her face.

Then, he softly kissed her forehead. His voice was almost pleading.

"Baby, wake up. Please, wake up."

The warmth in his voice finally reached Aurora. Her eyelashes trembled. Slowly, she blinked. Looking at Spencer in confusion, she softly asked,

"Spencer, what are you doing here?"

The enormous weight crushing Spencer’s heart instantly disappeared. He quietly exhaled in relief before smiling. "Nothing."

He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "I finished work earlier than expected. I wanted to surprise you."

He laughed helplessly. "Instead, I ended up being the one who got surprised."

Aurora followed his gaze. The moment she saw Shay, everything came rushing back. Her expression instantly darkened.

Anger surged inside her chest. She slowly stood up. Looking at Shay with icy eyes, she said, "I understand now."

Her voice was terrifyingly calm. "But let me deal with this person first."

Spencer remained silent for a moment. After carefully observing Aurora’s condition, he finally asked, "Are you sure?"

It wasn’t that Spencer doubted Aurora’s abilities. Far from it, he simply knew her too well.

He was genuinely worried that, in her anger, she might end up hurting herself more than her enemy.

After a brief moment of hesitation, he nodded. "All right."

His deep blue eyes lingered on her face for another second before he softly added, "I’ll be right outside. If anything feels wrong, call me immediately."

Aurora smiled reassuringly. "Don’t worry."

She gently squeezed his hand. "I know what I’m doing."

Only then did Spencer reluctantly leave the private room. The heavy wooden door quietly clicked shut behind him.

The moment he disappeared, Shay slowly raised her head. She looked at Aurora before letting out a cold laugh. "I almost backed out because he showed up."

She folded her arms. "You’re lucky."

Aurora merely smiled. She slowly crossed her legs before resting one elbow against the table.

Her voice was calm. "Shay..."

She tilted her head slightly. "Don’t you think you should stop now?"

A faint smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "At this point, you’re doing nothing except embarrassing yourself."

Those words instantly ignited Shay’s anger. She slammed both hands onto the table. "Why?"

Her voice trembled with frustration. "Why do I fail every single time I go against you? It shouldn’t be like this!"

She pointed at Aurora. "You’re supposed to be the one who loses!"

Her eyes gradually became bloodshot. "Why is everything so different from how it was supposed to happen?"

Aurora couldn’t help chuckling. She slowly stood up. Her footsteps echoed softly against the polished floor as she walked toward Shay. "I warned you before. I told you not to provoke me."

She stopped directly in front of Shay. Looking down at her, Aurora calmly continued,

"Unfortunately, it seems my words never meant anything to you."

She folded her arms. "You’ve always taken my warnings far too lightly."

The overwhelming pressure radiating from Aurora made Shay instinctively step backward. Soon, her back nearly touched the door.

Fear slowly appeared in her eyes. Even so, she stubbornly gritted her teeth.

Trying to sound confident, she shouted, "Don’t push me too far! I’m warning you! If you dare touch me, the System Institute will never let you go!"

Aurora laughed. "The System Institute? Don’t worry. I’ll visit them very soon. Once I’m done dealing with you, they’ll be the very next ones on my list."

The confidence in Aurora’s voice made Shay’s entire body tremble. She had never seen Aurora look this frightening before.

Even so, she desperately forced herself to stay calm. Taking a deep breath, she hurriedly spoke, "Aurora... calm down. Let’s talk this through. How about I compensate you?"

She spoke quickly, afraid Aurora would interrupt. "I can give you information about the System Institute. Isn’t that exactly what you want?"

Aurora smiled. A smile so calm that it made Shay even more uneasy. "No. That’s not what I want."

She stepped even closer. Only a single step separated them now.

Aurora looked directly into Shay’s frightened eyes. "Do you remember why you invited me here today?"

Shay froze. Aurora smiled beautifully. "You wanted to apologise."

She casually brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

"So, kneel. Apologise properly. Then, I’ll decide whether you’re worthy of forgiveness."

Inside, Shay was burning with humiliation. She, a master hypnotist, had manipulated countless powerful people.

Now, she was being forced into such a miserable position. Her nails dug painfully into her palms.

Yet, looking into Aurora’s icy eyes, she couldn’t gather the courage to resist. Slowly, her knees bent. She knelt on the cold floor. Her voice trembled.

"I was wrong."

Aurora remained silent. Seeing no reaction, Shay hurriedly continued. "I shouldn’t have targeted you."

Still, Aurora didn’t speak. Growing increasingly desperate, Shay began listing every mistake she had ever made against Aurora.

The list became longer and longer.

Eventually, even Shay herself realised how many crimes she had committed. She slowly fell silent.

Aurora gently clapped her hands.

"Good. You’ve remembered quite a lot."

Shay slowly raised her head hopefully. However, Aurora’s next sentence completely shattered that hope. "Unfortunately, I still don’t forgive you."

Before Shay could react... Slap!

Aurora’s palm landed squarely across her face. The sharp sound echoed throughout the room.

Before Shay recovered... Slap!

Another slap followed. Then another. Each strike was crisp and merciless. Soon, Shay’s cheeks became swollen and bright red.

Finally, unable to endure it any longer, she screamed, "Are you done?!"

Aurora calmly flexed her fingers. She smiled. "Did you ever leave me a reason not to be?"

Without another word, she shoved Shay backward. Shay stumbled awkwardly before collapsing onto the floor.

Aurora took out her phone. "Now, it’s time to call the police."

Within only a few minutes, police officers arrived. Shay struggled desperately.

As the officers dragged her away in handcuffs, she lowered her head and kept muttering,

"Why..."

Her voice sounded almost broken. "Why is everything different?"

She laughed hysterically. "It shouldn’t have happened like this..."

Suddenly, her eyes landed on Spencer. A strange expression appeared on her face. She burst into laughter. "It must be you! You’re Aurora’s male lead!"

Her laughter became crazed. "Then why... why hasn’t my male lead appeared yet?"

She laughed again. "He should’ve come to save me!"

Everyone looked at her as though she had completely lost her mind. Aurora quietly watched the police car disappear into the distance.

’Male lead?’

She frowned slightly. ’The original story never even reached that point.’

She had died far too early in the original novel. There was no way for her to know whether such a person had ever existed.

Still, if he truly existed, Aurora smiled faintly. ’Then I’ll deal with him too.’

Turning around, she looked toward Spencer. Without saying a single word, she opened both arms.

Spencer immediately understood. He stepped forward and gently pulled her into his embrace.

Aurora buried her face against his chest before whispering, "I missed you."

Spencer smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around her. "I missed you too."

He gently kissed the top of her forehead. After holding her quietly for a while, he smiled.

"Since we’re already here..."

He looked into her eyes. "...shouldn’t we celebrate a little?"

Aurora immediately shook her head. The smile on her face disappeared. "No."

Her expression became serious. "We need to visit Brother Lucas first. I am feeling anxious and worried about him!"
