Chapter 658: Mini Drama
At that moment, Miss Dawn’s calm voice echoed throughout the room.
"Really?"
She slowly leaned forward.
"Because from my perspective... You have far more to offer than you realize."
Jacqueline looked at her in confusion.
"Miss Jacqueline... have you ever considered continuing your filmmaking journey?"
Jacqueline gave a helpless smile.
"I’ve written many scripts. But... they all seem to lack something. A spark. I honestly don’t think they’re good enough."
Before she could continue, Miss Dawn interrupted her.
"I’ll give you three years."
The room immediately fell silent.
"For those three years... I’ll repay your family’s entire loan. I’ll also cover every bit of the interest. You won’t have to worry about the debt."
Her gaze remained fixed on Jacqueline.
"Your only responsibility... is to make films. I don’t care whether you believe your scripts have a spark or not."
"I want you to create short dramas for me. They can be inspirational, romantic, emotional, or can belong to any genre. The creativity... I’ll leave all of that entirely to you."
As Miss Dawn continued explaining her vision in greater detail, Jacqueline’s eyes slowly widened.
The more she listened... the clearer the future became.
By the time Miss Dawn finished speaking, Jacqueline was already on the verge of tears once again.
She quickly stood up from the sofa and bowed deeply.
"Miss Dawn..."
Her voice trembled with gratitude.
"If you truly help me through this..."
She clenched her fists tightly.
"I swear... I’ll remember this kindness for the rest of my life. And one day... I’ll repay this favor."
Miss Dawn merely waved her hand dismissively, as though the matter weren’t worth mentioning.
"Jacqueline, do you know just how much your fiancé loves you?"
Jacqueline froze. She blinked in surprise.
For a brief moment, she didn’t know how to answer.
Ever since she had officially become Theodore’s girlfriend, countless people had congratulated her.
At the same time, many others had secretly envied and hated her.
After all, Theodore had been known as the nation’s heartthrob.
Many women believed she had stolen him away from them.
Then, when news of her family’s bankruptcy quietly began spreading, even more malicious rumors started surfacing.
People mocked her. People pitied Theodore. Some even claimed their engagement would soon be called off.
Yet... this was the very first time someone had spoken to her about just how deeply Theodore loved her.
An involuntary blush slowly spread across her cheeks.
Noticing her embarrassed reaction, Miss Dawn smiled faintly.
"I want to tell you something, Jacqueline."
She folded her hands gracefully on her lap.
"Your fiancé came to me. And he was prepared to sacrifice his entire career just to save you."
Jacqueline’s eyes widened in disbelief. "What?"
She immediately shook her head. "Did he actually..."
Before she could finish speaking, Miss Dawn gently interrupted her.
"No. I never intended to let him sacrifice his future. I only wanted you to know."
She looked directly into Jacqueline’s eyes.
"While you’re busy giving up on yourself... there is someone desperately trying to make sure you continue living."
Miss Dawn continued in her calm yet powerful voice.
"So... Instead of disappointing everyone by sinking into depression... Why don’t you stand back up? Work even harder than before. You earned such prestigious awards before the age of twenty. That alone proves how talented and intelligent you truly are."
She paused briefly.
"But instead of using that intelligence to solve your problems... You’re allowing yourself to drown in despair."
She tilted her head slightly.
"Tell me. Is it because you’ve never experienced failure before? Or... Is it because reality turned out to be far harsher than you ever imagined?"
Hearing those words, Jacqueline instinctively lowered her head.
"...I just..."
Her voice became increasingly quieter.
"I feel like such a failure. My parents sacrificed everything for me. And I..."
Before she could continue blaming herself, Miss Dawn interrupted her once again.
"If they suffered..."
She smiled softly.
"Then remember this as well. They were happy. They enjoyed every single moment they spent with their daughter. From their perspective... there was nothing more precious than your life."
"Otherwise... they would never have sacrificed everything they built... just to make sure you stayed alive."
The moment those words reached Jacqueline’s ears, tears silently rolled down her cheeks once again.
This time... they weren’t tears of guilt alone.
They were mixed with warmth and love.
Miss Dawn slowly stood up from the sofa. Before leaving, she stopped beside Jacqueline.
One final sentence escaped her lips.
"Jacqueline. If you ever feel like giving up again... you’ll find me standing behind you. And so will your family."
After saying those words, she calmly walked toward the exit.
Jacqueline remained standing there in complete silence.
Did she by any chance know the real Miss Dawn? Or was it just her imagination?
Lost in her thought, she walked out too.
Before she could even process everything she had heard, she suddenly noticed her mother looking at her with concern.
Her mother hurried over. "Jacqueline..."
Her voice was filled with worry.
"What happened? Did Miss Dawn make things difficult for you?"
Jacqueline finally came back to her senses.
She immediately shook her head before revealing a bright smile.
The brightest smile she had shown in days.
"No."
She wiped away her tears.
"Miss Dawn simply showed me the truth... a truth I had been refusing to see."
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned toward her parents.
Without hesitation, she threw herself into their embrace. "I’m sorry..."
Her voice choked with emotion.
"I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have pushed both of you away. I shouldn’t have blamed you."
Her parents immediately hugged her tightly. Their eyes had also become moist.
"It’s alright, sweetheart."
Her father gently patted her back.
"Just promise us one thing. You are our greatest treasure. So never blame yourself like this again."
Her mother nodded repeatedly.
"Nothing... Nothing in this world is more important to us than you."
Jacqueline closed her eyes and quietly nodded.
Watching the reunion from the side, Theodore finally let out the breath he had been holding.
He had honestly never thought his own sister would make things much more difficult for his future sister-in-law.
Fortunately... everything had gone much better than expected.
Just then, Jacqueline suddenly turned around. Before Theodore could react, she wrapped both arms tightly around him.
Theodore instinctively hugged her back. A mischievous grin slowly spread across his face.
"So... Now you finally know how important your future hubby is."
He puffed out his chest proudly.
"I think you should cling tightly to my golden thigh from now on."
Hearing his shameless remark, Jacqueline couldn’t help but laugh.
It was the first genuine laugh she had let out in days.
She slowly pulled away. Looking directly into Theodore’s eyes, she gently cupped his face.
Before anyone realized what she was about to do... she leaned forward. And softly kissed him on the lips.
Theodore’s entire body froze. A bright crimson color instantly spread across his handsome face.
He stood there completely stunned.
Looking at Jacqueline’s smiling face... a face that had finally regained its warmth and happiness... he couldn’t help but feel that every effort he had made was worthwhile.
At that moment, Jacqueline became even more certain.
Even though her life had reached rock bottom... she had made the right decision by falling in love with Theodore.
Instead of abandoning her... instead of canceling their engagement... he had chosen to stand beside her through her darkest days.
She smiled gently. "I’ll repay you too."
Theodore immediately raised an eyebrow before grinning mischievously.
"So... should I book a hotel room?"
The moment those words left his mouth, Jacqueline’s father immediately cleared his throat loudly.
"Not before marriage."
His voice was firm and carried unquestionable authority.
Theodore instantly straightened his back like a disciplined soldier.
Only then did he realize that he had been so captivated by Jacqueline’s beautiful smile that he had completely forgotten her father was standing right there.
He awkwardly scratched the back of his head before flashing an embarrassed smile.
"Uncle... I’m sorry. I was only joking. Please don’t take it seriously."
Jacqueline’s father simply gave him a long look before slowly nodding.
Although his expression remained stern, the corners of his lips subtly twitched upward.
Soon afterward, Jacqueline returned to her family’s mansion with her parents and Theodore accompanying her.
Over the next three months, Jacqueline devoted herself entirely to creating short mini-dramas.
Having grown up in the entertainment industry since childhood, she possessed years of accumulated knowledge and experience.
Gradually... a story began taking shape inside her mind.
It was a simple tale. A story about a young girl who had fallen in love with the boy living next door.
Unable to hide her feelings, she confessed to him. Only to be rejected.
Even after being rejected, the girl continued loving him wholeheartedly as they grew older.
Meanwhile, the neighborhood boy casually moved from one relationship to another.
He never once looked back at her. Deep down, he believed she would always remain by his side no matter what happened.
That certainty slowly nurtured his arrogance. As the years passed, adulthood arrived.
The young man left their hometown to chase his dreams.
