Chapter 115 - 2nd Side Story-05
LEON
There is a numb pain in my shoulder as I let Joe lean on me and sleep. His breathing is even and he is surprisingly so quiet when he is sleeping. His sandy black hair is falling over his forehead, I can’t see his green eyes but that is fine.
I stare at him for who knows how long and the ache in my shoulder is growing. Well it is not like I am complaining or I am actually minding it. It is just the pain here, it is reminding me that I am still awake and it’s not a dream.
After midnight, someone walks in through the front door. John is carrying a sleeping Steeve in his arms. This little boy doesn’t seem to have grown much since the last time I saw him at Leo’s Christmas dinner last year.
John halts as he spots me and Joe on the couch. His eyes widen as realization hits him at last, "Oh God... I am so sorry!" John exclaims apologetically, "I totally forgot about you guys!"
I cross my arms over my shoulder and give him cold look, "I believe that is not very nice of you Mr. Goodie."
"I am really sorry, Mr. Snow." And I know how sorry John actually is. It is almost like he is guilty of some kind of crime, "I will just put John in his bed and be right here." Just as he finishes, he starts to rush toward inside, almost running. He almost stumbles upon himself but manages to catch himself before actually tripping.
Guess Ruth has gotten himself a pretty beta after all. John doesn’t seem all that bad to me. It is just... I am not into him. And I don’t plan to take a man who is already taken. This is nothing but dragging things through the mud.
I look down at Joe again. He is still sleeping very peacefully. I have always known that Joe is a heavy sleeper. Even if there is a terrorist attack, he will still manage to stay asleep somehow. As he has slept over to my apartment a few times, I know his sleeping habits and how he sleeps.
