Chapter 24: It’s my fault
Ethan paced the length of the living room, phone pressed tightly to his ear. His patience had long since snapped.
"Find her. Now," he ordered, his voice sharp as a blade.
"Understood, sir," Steph replied. "I already have people searching the usual places. We’ll find her."
Ethan ran a frustrated hand through his hair. It was already midnight. Mara’s phone was still off. Where the hell was she?
Meanwhile, Mara gripped the steering wheel as she drove, her mind a whirlwind of emotions.
Today had been too much.
Maria and Daniel’s tense encounter. Mrs. Anderson showed up unannounced.
Ethan suddenly walking out on her. And then Jason, Jason pushing her to the edge.
