Chapter 245 I Want You
Kelly stood up in the passenger seat of the roaring red Ferrari, the midnight wind slapping against her face like waves of liberation. Her long, dark hair whipped behind her in wild streams, dancing freely in the gusts. The car’s convertible roof had been rolled back, leaving nothing but open sky above them. For the first time in a long time, there were no eyes watching her, no walls pressing in, no expectations weighing on her shoulders.
Just the night. Just the wind. And Liam.
She closed her eyes briefly, tilting her head back, letting the cool air wrap around her like a fresh breath of life. When she finally sat back down, her cheeks were flushed, eyes brighter than he’d seen all night.
"I forgot what real freedom actually feels like," she said, her voice low but filled with awe.
Liam glanced at her, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Well," he said, shifting gears effortlessly, "where do you want to go?"
She hesitated. Her fingers brushed her brow, gently rubbing away tension she hadn’t realized was still there. The city lights flickered on the horizon, but none of it called to her. She didn’t want noise. She didn’t want a crowd. She didn’t want to pretend she was okay anymore.
Then she turned to him, her eyes meeting his. "Let’s go to your place."
Liam blinked. He hadn’t expected that.
He glanced at her quickly again, but her expression wasn’t playful. It was honest—determined, even. She meant it.
Without saying another word, he grinned, made a sharp U-turn, and gunned the engine. The tires screeched against the pavement as they sped down the quiet streets, neon lights reflecting off the hood of the car as they disappeared into the shadows of the city.
