Chapter 233 THIS IS FREAKING COOL
Lana stared at Dickson for a few seconds, weighing her options. She bit her lower lip, eyes tired and dark from sleep deprivation, before finally shaking her head. "It’s not up to me to tell you," she said quietly. "Liam will tell you when he wakes up."
Dickson didn’t press further, but his eyes lingered on her face, reading the tension there. Before he could say anything else, the sharp sound of the front gate opening pierced the silence. Both their heads turned as the familiar roar of Lilith’s V8 engine died down.
The car door opened, and Lilith stepped out. Her long golden-blonde hair was a mess, and her eyes looked duller than usual—but what caught Lana’s attention was the small bottle she held delicately in her hand. A small glass vial no bigger than a shot glass, filled with a glowing, misty blue liquid that looked like it pulsed faintly.
"Where the hell have you been?" Lana asked, approaching her.
Lilith didn’t even pause. "Not important," she said, brushing past Lana. Her voice was sharper than usual, focused, urgent. "Saving Liam is more important. Where is he?"
"Upstairs," Lana said, pointing.
"Good."
Without wasting another breath, Lilith strode into the house, her heels clicking with determination against the wooden floor. She didn’t even glance in Dickson’s direction.
Dickson watched her, raising an eyebrow. "How about a ’hi, cousin’?" he muttered with sarcasm.
She didn’t respond. She just started up the stairs.
Lana walked up beside Dickson and glanced at him sideways. "You don’t know?"
