Chapter 119 You Are The Consequence
Liam sat in front of his computer, the glow from the multiple monitors casting a soft light across his face. His room was dimly lit except for the screens and the faint rays of the setting sun spilling through the half-drawn curtains. His fingers moved rapidly across the keyboard, executing trade after trade with swift precision.
The system’s crypto prediction tool was nothing short of insane — like a money cheat code from a video game. His account had exploded from $40,000 to nearly $200,000 in just three hours. Even though he occasionally threw in intentionally bad trades to avoid suspicion, and sometimes the market didn’t even obey the system’s perfect logic, the growth was still astronomical.
Every time he lost money — especially when the system was wrong — it stung, hard. But he couldn’t complain too much. The gains were far outweighing the losses, and despite the emotional rollercoaster of watching red candles drop on the screen, Liam wasn’t bored.
How could he be bored?
He was literally printing money.
His body was slouched in the chair now, muscles aching from sitting in the same position for hours, his eyes slightly strained. Still, he wasn’t quitting just yet. He was in the middle of predicting a major spike when the door creaked open behind him.
He turned instinctively, and the moment he saw her, he froze — swallowed hard.
Ann stood at the door, her hair cascading loosely over her shoulders, a lazy, seductive smile playing on her lips. She was wearing an oversized white shirt that hung off one shoulder, draping loosely around her neck and collarbone. The fabric was thin enough for him to see the soft outline of her full, perky breasts beneath — no bra.
His eyes involuntarily trailed downward.
She was wearing a pair of shorts — if they could even be called that. The fabric barely covered the tops of her thighs, revealing smooth, golden skin that looked sinfully soft. Her thighs were toned and deliciously thick, and Liam could feel a familiar heat crawling up his neck.
He swallowed again, his mouth a little dry.
