Ella glanced down—and finally noticed.
The soft curve of her breasts was practically spilling out, her arms still crossed beneath them, pressing them up like some visual weapon of mass destruction. Her lips curled into a smirk. No words, no apology. Just a smirk.
Liam caught the expression and stared at her, eyes slightly wide.
She knows... and she’s not even sorry?
Before he could offer a playful comment, or maybe ask her to stop teasing him in broad daylight, Lilith’s voice interrupted the moment like a blade through silence.
"That’s it," she said, walking toward them with the same quiet authority she always carried. "We’re done here. Let’s go grab some food and get out of this dump."
She held the leather-bound catalog in one hand, already snapped shut. Business was concluded.
"They’ll deliver everything to my place once I confirm the wire transfer," she added, tossing a brief glance over her shoulder as if it was already handled.
Liam gave a slight shrug. It made sense. Of course someone like Lilith wouldn’t carry heavy crates of weapons herself. She clicked buttons and people jumped.
As they were about to leave, the short man with glasses hurried over, his steps quick and his hands wringing nervously.
"Miss Lilith," he said, voice low and serious, "I suggest you be careful around these parts. The streets here... they’re crawling with thugs these days. The sort of men who don’t care who you are."
