Liam stopped the moment he felt her hand pressing lightly against his chest, a gentle but firm push that made him pause just as his lips hovered over hers. His gaze flickered to her face, searching her expression for any sign of discomfort or hesitation.
"What is it?" he asked, his voice low and husky, his breath warm against her skin.
Ann swallowed, her cheeks tinged with a soft flush as she averted her eyes for a brief second before meeting his gaze again. "I was cleaning, and I... I’ve been sweating," she admitted, her voice quieter than before.
For a moment, Liam just stared at her, then suddenly, the corners of his lips curved into a small, amused smile.

He found her reason adorable, almost laughable in the best way. The scent of her sweat wasn’t off-putting to him—in fact, it was intoxicating. There was something about the warmth of her skin, the faint trace of her natural scent mixed with the effort she had put into cleaning his home, that only made him want to be near her even more.
Liam didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he just continued to look at her, his gaze darkening slightly as he took in the way strands of her damp hair clung to her forehead and cheeks, highlighting the sharp yet delicate features of her face. She looked effortlessly beautiful like this—flustered, slightly vulnerable, yet still so breathtakingly captivating that he couldn’t look away.
Slowly, he leaned in, his lips brushing the shell of her ear as he whispered, "You’re irresistible."
Before Ann could even process his words, he kissed her again.
