Chapter 385: Want to move on
Roger was in the middle of dinner when his eyes flickered to his phone screen. A news alert flashed across it. A fire broke out in the residential complex. His brows furrowed as he read the location.
"Isn’t this where Aiden lives?" he muttered, lowering his spoon. Without wasting a second, he grabbed his phone and dialed Aiden’s number.
After a few rings, the call was answered, but Aiden’s voice on the other end sounded off. Jr sounded weak and drained.
Roger’s grip on the phone tightened. "What happened at your place? And why do you sound like that?" His concern deepened. "Are you okay? Please tell me nothing happened to you."
"Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just a fever," Aiden’s weak voice came through the phone. "The fire did break out, but everything is under control now."
Roger exhaled in slight relief but wasn’t fully convinced. "Did you take any medicine?"
"Hmm, I did," Aiden murmured.
"And dinner? Have you eaten anything?" Roger pressed further.
"I’m in the kitchen now. I’ll cook some porridge," Aiden replied, his voice slightly hoarse.
