"Are you alright, Lucius?" Layla finally queried.
Lucius quickly wore a fake smile, not wanting to worry them. "I need to leave urgently for a work," he said.

Alekis, who had been quietly observing the exchange, finally spoke. "You should take your responsibilities more seriously, Lucius," he said, his tone carrying a hint of admonishment. Then, turning to Layla, he added, "Let’s head back to the cottage. We shouldn’t keep him any longer."
The ride back to the cottage ended soon. As soon as they arrived, Lucius helped his father out of the car.
