Chapter 195: Pamper me
Layla carried the bag downstairs when Roger left his seat. "I’ll carry this," he rushed to Layla, who was in the middle of the stairs. He grabbed the bag from her, descending the stairs with her.
"When did you come here? You should have taken more rest at home. Lucius will be upset if he finds you in the hospital," Layla opined.
"Boss won’t say anything. Besides, it’s already two in the noon. I slept more than five hours at my home earlier and even slept last night," Roger stated. "I thought your mother would be here," he muttered with a surprised look.
"I sent her home," Layla replied.
"I heard from Aiden that you let Fiona stay behind with Boss. Layla, I don’t like it to talk about the De Salvo family matters, but she’s been an admirer of Boss. You should not let another woman near him," Roger proclaimed.
"I felt no one is better than Fiona to be by Lucius’s side while I’ll be absent. Moreover, from my husband’s side Fiona is his sister-in-law," she explained, showing the faith in Lucius.
Roger reached the car and placed the bag carefully in the backseat, shutting the door with a soft thud. "Boss doesn’t like the way Fiona pesters him," Roger said, turning to Layla. "I’m sure she’s been saying something to him. That’s why I brought it up. But even I know Boss has only you in his heart."
She smiled back when Sarah came there.
"Madam, here’s the lunchbox," said Sarah and the two of them looked at her.
"Thank you," Layla took the bag from Sarah. "I’ll come home tomorrow. Hopefully, Lucius be discharged then," she added.
"Yes. Don’t worry about the house," Sarah told her.
