"We can’t see Boss right now," Roger told both Aiden and Zayne. "But rest assured, he is out of danger and is absolutely fine," he asserted. The three of them entered the next room and Aiden closed the door behind him.
The three of them stepped into the adjoining room, and Aiden closed the door softly behind them, ensuring their conversation remained private.
"Did you manage to uncover anything?" Roger asked as he turned to Zayne with a serious gaze.
"Yes, I did," Zayne replied, pulling out his phone. "I discovered what the shooter looks like," he said, handing the device to Roger.
Roger studied the image intently. "He appears to be a middle-aged man," he remarked, his brows furrowing in thought.
"That’s correct," Zayne confirmed, crossing his arms. "He goes by the alias ’X,’ but no records of his real name exist in any database I accessed. From what I gathered, X was previously affiliated with a gang that operated outside our borders. It seems likely that he was brought here to execute this particular mission," Zayne elaborated, his voice steady as he detailed his findings.
Roger’s gaze darkened as he processed the information, nodding slowly. "This complicates things. If he’s from an external gang, we might be dealing with a broader threat than we initially thought," he muttered, deep in thought.
"I examined the sight with Zayne," Aiden spoke up. "The target was Layla, not our boss. Someone wants to kill her. The shooter has been following them for a while and most importantly, he missed the shot because the roof that was made just made outside the door. If he hadn’t missed his first shot, Layla’s life would be in danger," he told them in detail.
"Why would someone want to harm Layla?" Roger frowned.
