Chapter 151: A fervent, hungry kiss
Layla stopped by the dresser, setting her clutch down with a soft thud. Her fingers moved to her earrings, delicately removing each one before unfastening the watch from her wrist. She turned around slowly, her hands gripping the edges of the dresser for support as her gaze lingered on the closed door.
"Why won’t Lucius tell me what’s troubling him? He barely said a word in the car," she murmured under her breath, her voice tinged with concern.
With a sigh, she pushed herself upright and took a step forward. Just as she did, the door creaked open, and Lucius stepped into the room, shutting it firmly behind him. His gaze was steady, yet his expression remained unreadable as he asked, "Are you going to take a shower?"
Layla shook her head, exhaustion evident in her tone. "No, I’ll just brush my teeth and head to bed. I’m too tired."
As she approached him, she reached out to help him with his blazer. Her hands slipped it off his shoulders. Her touch lingered, trailing sensually across the crisp fabric of his shirt. Her eyes never left his gaze.
"What are you doing?" Lucius asked with a smirk, his hands sliding to rest firmly on her waist as Layla’s fingers deftly began unbuttoning his shirt.
"Helping my husband," she replied, her voice soft yet laced with a playful edge.
"With this kind of seduction?" Lucius arched a brow, his amusement evident in the upward curve of his lips.
Layla paused, her fingers hovering on the fourth button, and tilted her head slightly. "And if I actually seduce you? What will happen to you then?" she teased, her tone both daring and inviting.
