Chapter 146: Twist your words
As Sylvia entered the living room, she found only Layla was present there. She didn’t greet Layla and asked, "Where’s Lucius?" Resting her handbag on the couch, she then settled on it.
"Lucius is sleeping," Layla said. "Would you like to have tea? Green or black tea perhaps?" she queried.
"No, thank you. I am not here to talk to you nor drink a tea with you," Sylvia remarked.
"I allowed you to be here because I wanted to see you. Lucius will not spare you a glance after what you always do to him," Layla asserted.
Sylvia furrowed her brows together. "Don’t lecture me. You don’t know anything about the relationship Lucius and I have," she said sternly.
"I know. You force Lucius. He doesn’t like you the way you do. You better stop using your brother to get close to my husband. If anyone who is bearing the loss of Matteo the most, then it’s Lucius. At least for the sake of your late brother, don’t use his name to meet Lucius. If you cared so much about your brother, you would have asked him to stop being a mafia," Layla remarked while revealing whatever she felt.
Sylvia sharply glared at Layla. "My brother called Lucius the last time and he didn’t pick up. Whose fault was this? My brother died because there was no one to help him. Don’t even say a word about us if you don’t even know anything. You think marrying Lucius has given you the right to mock me!?" Her tone sounded as if she was irritated.
"You claim to like my husband but at the same time, you blame him for your brother’s demise. Indeed, I don’t know the past but what I know is that you are harrasing my husband. Today I allowed you thinking we should have a conversation to make you understand. Next time, you step a foot here and trouble us, I will call the police. Don’t take my word lightly. I am not related to you, so I won’t show any kind of sympathy," Layla clarified to her.
Glancing at Sarah, Layla continued, "Please show the way out to Miss Mancini."
