"Boss, I have intel," Aiden murmured, leaning in to whisper something in Lucius’s ear. He stepped back, watching as Lucius absorbed the information.
Lucius’s eyes narrowed. "Are you certain?"
"Yes, Boss," Aiden affirmed with a nod.
Lucius’s brows drew together, the weight of the decision settling on him. He’d planned to leave for Spain, but now he hesitated—Layla needed him here during this difficult time.
"I might have to delay the trip," Lucius muttered.
"But, Boss, this is a rare chance. The person in Spain is the only known witness who saw Matteo’s killer that day," Aiden urged. "Roger and I could go, but we doubt the witness will trust us enough to share anything."
Lucius fell silent, his mind confused with what to do. Discovering who killed Matteo was crucial. Yet, Orabela, Roderick, and others with questionable motives might try to take advantage of Layla’s vulnerability in his absence.
"I’ll stay with Madam Layla, Boss. You don’t need to worry about her," Aiden assured him. "Besides, your wife can handle things here. You’ve always said she’s a strong woman."
Lucius took a deep breath, weighing his options.
