Chapter 101: No way I can wear this
Orabela’s voice wavered as she reached out, desperately trying to stop her father from leaving without hearing her side, but he walked away without a backward glance.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she watched her mother and grandmother follow him, each one passing her by without a word. She felt utterly abandoned.
"Orabela, you’ve ruined your own birthday," Roderick sneered, breaking the silence. "I warned you not to underestimate my uncle. Now you know what he’s capable of. And to think you actually lied in front of him."
Orabela turned to him, her tears streaming freely down her face. "Rick, I deserved to be the Director," she pleaded. "I was only angry because Layla took what was rightfully mine."
Roderick’s gaze turned icy. "You even lost your own position. Now, you deserve nothing in their eyes. Also, I don’t think this relationship should continue," he said coldly. "I gave it a chance—I tried to understand you. But now, it’s over. Don’t even try to contact me because I won’t answer. Even my mother wouldn’t want someone like you as her daughter-in-law."

Orabela fell to the floor and she wandered her eyes around. This was the first time no one was by her side all because of Layla and Lucius. She wiped the tears from her cheeks and stood up. With slow steps, she dragged herself to the door.
Somehow, she reached the home in the car and saw her family was awaiting her in the living room. Her father had a dark expression on his face while her mother was as disappointed as her father.
She took a step forward. "Dad... Mom..."
