Chapter 95: Shrewder than I thought
Lady Agatha knocked on the door before pushing it. There seated Darius on the chair, going through the file in his hand.
"Mother," Darius whispered.
"Stay seated," Lady Agatha said and closed the door behind her. Pulling out a chair, she sat on it and looked around the room. "You never made me feel shameful with your actions, Darius," she began, her tone carried a bit of guilt in it.
"Except for bringing a mistress in this house. You destroyed three lives with this. Exclude that wench and her daughter," Lady Agatha said with a bitter tone in the end.
"Mother, you knew I wanted to marry Seraphina from the beginning. To fulfill the wish of my late father, I went with your choice. However, it was too late for me to stop. Seraphina was already pregnant with my child and the doctor refused to abort it because of the medical complications," Darius explained to her.
"It would be better if they both were dead," Lady Agatha sharpy said. "What good Seraphina did to this house or to you? She brought a daughter in this world and later, she wanted to kill her. Which mother does this? Did you ask her? What if Layla and Seraphina presented a fake narrative of this so that Layla could enter the company?"
These words were of Orabela, coming out of Agatha’s mouth.
"What do you mean, Mother?" Darius asked her.
"Don’t act naive. You know what I mean. Layla never got anything from us because her birth was itself a mistake in all of our eyes. Seraphina might have planned this with Layla so that she can become a part of the Rosenzweig Groups. Miriam told me how Layla has humiliated all of you after her marriage using her husband Lucius’s name," Agatha explained.
