Under the vampire Lord's protection

Chapter 103: Words as sharp as blades

Arabella had just wrapped a towel under her arms when Katherine came back in with a tray that carried exactly one cup.

"Master Silas requested that this be delivered to you," she held the tray forward, "For the injuries you’ve sustained out there,"

"How kind of him!" Arabella’s nose hovered over the little cup as she inspected its content.

How kind, indeed! Thinking back at the sullen ambience in the carriage on their way back, regardless of the ambiguous reasons, she’d fully expected Silas to forget about her wounds.

"It’s green tea," seeing the suspicion on the young woman’s face, Katherine decided to put her at ease, "He’s only mixed in a few drops of his blood. It should suffice,"

The consistency of the liquid stood testament to Katherine’s words. It was green and runny as ordinary green tea would be. The blood had long since dissolved, becoming an invisible part of the solution.

Arabella picked the teacup and brought it to her lips before gulping it all down in one go. Once done, she slowly placed it back onto the tray.

"You must be thirsty!" Ketherine’s widened eyes darted between her and the empty cut.

"Oh... My apologies. It seems I must be. I hadn’t even realized," a tad abashed, Arabella kept a hand over her mouth and refused to meet the vampire’s gaze.
