Chapter 99: Blissful sights
"Oh yes! She is alright. She actually came back more than an hour ago. She will null doubt be able to receive you," Ariel spared not a glance at Silas.
Both Floriel and Ariel flew each on one side of Arabella’s face, pulling at her cheeks as she, in turn, followed Silas deeper between the flower rings.
"I have no pressing matter to discuss today. We just came by to see you all," he walked, doing his best to conceal his amusement.
"Oh, how kind of you to come visit us!" it was Floriel that had responded that time, still completely absorbed by the existence of Arabella.
"I’ve never been to Lustris! What is it like to be a noblewoman there?" Ariel patted Arabella’s pink cheek after tugging at it some more.
"Well, it is not so-" she was never allowed to finish her sentence.
"Your skin is flawless! What sort of food do you consume?" Floriel nearly buried her face in Arabella’s.
"Don’t be so rude, Floriel.... It is very impolite to stare at someone in such a manner,"
It was quite rich of Ariel to chastise Floriel for her behavior, considering her own eyes had latched onto Arabella, a foggy air in them emphasizing the dazed expression her features exhibited. Even her voice grew more distant the longer her sentence went on, utterly enthralled by the human in sight.
"Would you please let her know we are here?"
Not even then did they react. Floriel’s lips twitched a tad, earning the impression she’d been about to speak, but nothing ever came of it.
