After several years away, as Faye approached the cemetery, her heart felt a bit sore.
She held flowers in one hand and grasped Darnley’s hand with the other.
From afar, seeing her parents’ tombstone made her nose tingle.
At some point, two red rose bushes had been planted on either side of her parents’ gravestone.
It was summer, and the roses were in full, fiery bloom.
She walked up, placed the roses in her hand down, and gazed at her parents’ photos on the tombstone.
