Chapter 53: Clash
"Goldwing, go. Teach that woman a lesson," Eagle ordered coldly, his tone devoid of hesitation.
"Screech!"
With a sharp cry, the massive Fiery Eagle soared forward, wings blazing like molten steel.
It opened its beak, and a wave of infernal breath erupted forth—scorching, overwhelming, and fierce enough to reduce an elite powerhouse to ash in seconds.
Even Undead Regeneration might not stand a chance against such intensity.
But despite the devastating attack, Evernight didn’t flinch. Her expression remained calm, almost bored.
Why?
BOOM!
A colossal rock wall surged up from the earth at the perfect moment, intercepting the blast. Flames slammed into it, scattering molten sparks in every direction. The searing breath carved deep gashes into the stone but Evernight’s group stood untouched behind the barrier.
When the flames faded, a low, rumbling voice echoed across the field.
"I, the Mountain King," the humanoid golem declared, stepping into view, "will never let lowly humans lay a finger on my master."
