Chapter 100: Raiding the Burg 1
The first time Kaiju spotted the burg was when he arrived at the Trial, floating above the canopy of the gigantic crown of trees. Afterwards, he had never spotted it due to the darkness, as even the sunlight in the Hellish Trial could not be compared to the sun.
Kaiju received the information from them about the direction of the burg, and now, he was nearing it. At the same time, he was baffled by the absence of the Thralls, even now that he was now close to the walls of the castle.
"If I recall correctly, they stated that the Bloodbound must have been preparing against our raid. I must be cautious henceforth." Kaiju mumbled, scrutinizing the burg as he got closer.
He then realized it was tall, needed at least hundreds of him to stand each other to arrive at the peak–it even went higher than the canopy of the gargantuan tree. Kaiju then touched the walls and felt its hardness. It was grey, seemingly created by a cement, but the materials were by no means ordinary.
Kaiju took out the Bloodthorn dagger and slashed the wall. Spark flew all over. Kaiju’s heart ached, almost deluding himself that his Bloodthorn was broken. He glanced at the durability points of the Bloodthorn and heaved a sigh of relief it only decreased by ten points. He then stored it in the inventory to repair.
He fell into deep contemplation, while sliding his fingers at the wall. The wall seemed to be made of enormous bricks glued together. The wall appeared to have grown older as green grass grew, but even then, the toughness of the walls remained impossible to be destroyed.
"Then, there is only one way." Kaiju tilted his head upward, and recalled Herforao.
He then slid his gaze and spotted different branches that could act as a platform for him to jump. Of course, there were the Wind Platform effects by the Zephyrstride boots, but Kaiju preferred the traditional way.
Without hesitation, he glanced at Snow and Little Gorilla, who remained silent and vigilant, and then leapt at the nearest branch.
