Chapter 28: Faith Miller
"How is he?" Qwanisha inquired in concern.
She watched Kaiju being surrounded by a golden barrier produced by a woman slightly above his age. She entered the Hellish Trial a year ago and was quickly found by Max. If it was not for Max, she would have long been perished by the Thrall.
She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together while kneeling. Her countenance appeared solemn, with a stubborn expression mixed within, highlighting her milky-white pretty face. Coupled with her impeccable appearance, wearing a black and white robe like a nun, where she brought it from the store after she became an Awakener, she appeared an immaculate nun.
She was Faith Miller from the west.
The only place in the world inhabited by humans where it lacked an Ascendant was the west. Obviously, it was divided by the strongest High Ranker with the other three on the same rank. Since it lacked an Ascendant, what brought the citizens together was "faith" established by the strongest High Ranker, who obtained the blood of the Angels. Obviously, despite the other High Ranker obtaining the blood of other races, noting that it didn't oppose the Angels, it didn't stop the "faith" from spreading in the west, even creating a first-world country, with other High Ranker's country being second-world at most.
Nevertheless, the other High Ranker, on the surface, didn't oppose the strongest High Ranker's immense influence, who even created the church, seemingly worshipping what the Angel's race worshipped, too. Faith Miller came from the country and was even among the future saints. Although her future was certain, ascending through the ranks of the church, she had chosen the Hellish Trial for some reason.
Only a year after entering the Hellish Trial she became awakened. Hellish Trial has an enormous difference compared to other trials–they could only be awakened after completing the trial. However, in the Hellish Trial, due to the difficulty assumingly, the participant can become awakened.
Even so, it only made a minimal difference.
"You should not disturb her, Qwanisha." Max softly whispered.
