Chapter 112
On the vast, well-tended lands of the Bartfort estate, two teenagers could be seen walking leisurely toward the main mansion. Both wore sharp black suits, and dark sunglasses shimmered on their faces, reflecting the bright spring sunlight.
These were Tony and Vito—brothers by blood, and trusted subordinates of Leon Bartfort. Leon often entrusted them with special assignments, and today happened to be one of those occasions. He had given them a task, and the brothers followed their path without straying.
"Remind me, what exactly are we supposed to do?" Vito asked, turning his head slightly toward his brother.
Without stopping, Tony reached into the pocket of his jacket, pulled out a folded piece of paper, and handed it to Vito.
"Here. Read this—you'll get the picture."
Vito took the note, unfolded it, and scanned the lines with his eyes. He frowned.
"That's it? Just deliver a message to Barkus Bartfort?"
"Yup. Well, there's one more thing..." Tony added, with a mysterious half-smile. "Flip it over."
Vito obeyed. On the reverse side, there was a continuation, written in the same neat handwriting. He read it silently, then raised his eyebrows and let out a low chuckle, a spark of interest igniting within him.
