Chapter 101: Apology to the Fiancée (2)
After an intense duel in the arena, Clarice was about to head toward Leon to personally congratulate him on his victory. She felt genuine joy over what had transpired, though she had hoped Leon would take a stricter approach with Jilk. Despite this, Leon's methods—though softer—had proven to be quite effective and deserved recognition.
As Clarice left the arena, intending to begin her search for Leon, she was suddenly stopped by a young student. He addressed her politely:
"Excuse me, are you Lady Clarice?"
Hearing the greeting, Clarice gave a slight nod and replied:
"Yes, I am Clarice. How can I help you?"
After confirming her identity, the student continued:
"My name is [student's name], and I am one of Leon Bartfort's devoted followers. I ask you to accept this letter."
With those words, the student carefully took out an envelope from his pocket and extended it toward Clarice.
The moment she received the message, a wave of mixed emotions washed over her. Her first instinct was suspicion—could this be some elaborate trap meant to lure her out? A scheme for an ambush, or worse, an abduction? However, as she studied the student more closely, her eyes caught sight of the Bartfort family crest on his shoulder.
