Chapter 82: Calm the girls down(3)
Leon walked silently beside Clarice for a while, carefully choosing his words. Finally, he spoke.
"I apologize if I interrupted you in your affairs," he said, bowing his head respectfully before the young woman.
Clarice stopped and gave him a cold look. Her lips twitched in a faint grimace, but she quickly regained control over herself.
"There is no need to apologize, Viscount Bartfort. It would be better if you just tell me what you want," she replied in an even but dry tone.
Leon straightened up, took a deep breath, and firmly stated,
"I wanted to stop you from doing something you might regret in the future."
His gaze held no judgment or mockery—only sincere seriousness. He wasn't pressuring her, nor was he trying to impose his opinion, yet Clarice felt that his words carried more than just simple advice.
At first, she didn't understand what he was talking about. But after a few moments, it dawned on her—he had stopped her from purchasing a sex slave.
Haaah... So, you think I need your advice?
Her voice was laced with mockery, and it felt as if a shadow had settled around them. The tension in the air grew instantly. Even before meeting Leon, her mood had been far from good—anger and disappointment boiled within her after her breakup with Jilk. But now... now those feelings had found an outlet.
"Regret in the future?" Her voice carried a mix of bitterness and fury. "I already regret everything!"
