Chapter 20: Another One(1)
After Leon's recent achievements, important and influential people began to take notice of him. At the same time, letters from girls closer to his age started arriving. Unfortunately, he had been unable to respond to these letters personally in the past due to his young age. Instead, Barcus had to handle the correspondence for him.
Now, however, since Leon officially held his own noble title, he was required to respond to the letters himself.
"Answer them politely, my boy," said Lucy as Leon began to read the first letter.
The content of the letter turned out to be rather curious. It didn't feel like the girl was proposing marriage to Leon out of affection. Instead, it came across as if she were pitying him and "graciously" granting him permission to marry her. Furthermore, she demanded that he provide financial support once they were wed. Attached to the letter was a photograph of the girl. She wasn't particularly beautiful but couldn't be called unattractive either—somewhere in between.
"And we're supposed to respond to letters like this politely?" the second muttered in disbelief.
"And what should we write to make sure they aren't offended? I'm definitely not planning to marry someone like that," the first said indignantly.
After thinking for a moment, the second suggested:
"Let's just reply to all of them the same way. I don't want to waste time on these letters right now, so let's write something like this."
