He gritted his teeth, a low growl escaping his throat. Unbeknownst to him, at the peripheral of his eyes, one could now see hints of a pitch void like colour creeping inward.
Not knowing, he tossed two pills into his mouth, swallowing them in a single motion without hesitation.
The familiar metallic tang hit his tongue, followed by a surge of heat that spread through his chest. Almost instantly, the system’s voice blared in his mind, its tone uncharacteristically urgent.

Lin Mu cursed under his breath, his voice a harsh. "Keep Quite!" he snarled, his eyes squeezing shut as he focused inward, his body tensing against the sudden flood of energy.
The pills dissolved, releasing a double burst of qi that roared through his body like a wildfire, threatening to tear him apart. Veins bulged across his arms and neck, his skin flushing red like an asura as he gritted his teeth harder, his jaw still tender from Sasha’s blow made it even more unbearable.
Sweat beaded on his forehead, but he refused to yield, his will a steel anchor as he wrestled the energy into submission.
