Carriages usually travel only in the morning and take a brief rest at night.
This is because traveling at night, no matter how well-maintained the road is, is far too dangerous.
Even if public safety isn’t bad, the appearance of nocturnal beasts or monsters can still be a major headache.
Therefore, carriages operate only in the morning and either stop or camp outdoors at night. Fortunately, there are places similar to stations scattered along the way.
Think of them as something akin to gas stations on Earth. Thanks to these, I was able to have meals there. I didn’t have to suffer by going back into the forest.

The station was literally just for meals, and since I kept moving day and night, I arrived early.
