As a day passed, the time to depart for Byzantium approached. However, leaving immediately was impractical.

Since we had to travel by carriage, various supplies were needed, and we might even have to camp outdoors.

Moreover, even though the roads were well-maintained, monsters or wild animals could still jump out at us.

Since the railway was not yet completed, we had no choice but to endure these inconveniences.

“Let’s see… Sleeping bags, matches, and food. This should be enough, right?”
