Chapter 1727: Borrowing A Seed
Zhen Linshuang's sudden request took everyone by surprise. All of the bigwigs present were completely shocked. Even Lu Qing'er couldn't help but give Zhen Linshuang a strange look. Although her emotions were frozen, she wasn't completely unfeeling; it was more so that she was mostly indifferent to everything, not a complete block of ice. If it were in the past, with her personality, she would definitely have rebuked Chieftain Zhen angrily. However, she merely watched calmly.
"Chieftain Zhen, don't you think your request is a little too outlandish?" said Li Luo after he collected himself. This arrogant and tyrannical dragon had actually brought up the topic of borrowing his seed, and in front of a bunch of people.
Zhen Linshuang didn't seem to care as she replied, "There's nothing ridiculous about this. Strengthening and ensuring the continuation of the bloodline is the most important thing to the Dragon Race."
Li Luo coughed dryly. "Even matters related to the bloodline still boil down to affection and consent."
Zhen Linshuang frowned slightly as she raised her chin proudly and said in a disdainful tone, "Who needs your affection and consent? All you need to do is pass your bloodline on. The rest has nothing to do with you. You'll also get to walk away with two portions of upper ninth-grade spirit liquids and purifying lights. You humans don't need to impose your hypocritical morals upon us. In my opinion, as long as the Dragon Race can give birth to someone with a perfect Heavenly Dragon bloodline, then any price is worth it."
She then glared at Li Luo and snorted coldly. "You don't need to act so haughtily. If you didn't have the Dragon Ancestor's Physique and the Heavenly Dragon bloodline, I wouldn't even bother with your seed."
Li Luo was speechless. How was he acting haughtily? However, he also could tell that the Dragon Race and humans had fundamental differences in their morals. It wouldn't sit right with him if he simply left a descendant behind and walked away. This wasn't just an emotional matter—the child would not be under his control. Who could guarantee that some sort of issue wouldn't arise in the future? What if an enemy wished to use the child to blackmail him? It would bring about a great amount of trouble.
Li Luo shrugged, no longer planning to discuss this outlandish matter with Zhen Linshuang any further. "Chieftain Zhen, that is too much. Please don't bring that topic up again."
Seeing him reject her offer so quickly caused Zhen Linshuang to burst out in anger. "Too much? Was what you did to me on the Dragon's Abyss altar not too much?"
Everyone turned towards Li Luo. He felt a little awkward as even Lu Qing'er looked over. "The situation was dire and that was the best solution I had. It's not as exaggerated as she makes it sound," he explained.
