Chapter 1708: Hongyous Assistance
By the time Li Luo heard Zhen Linshuang's furious roar, he had already disappeared into the depths of the Dragon's Abyss. Once inside, he could sense a thick aura coalescing all around him. It was not completely pitch black though, and there were wisps of dim light floating around. Each wisp seemed to contain its own sentience and moved around like fish, swimming freely throughout the abyss.
When he grabbed one of the wisps of light and realized what it was, his gaze turned feverish with desire. All of the wisps of dim light contained energy identical to Ancestral Blood! They were essentially manifestations of it!
"There are so many... It's no wonder Zhen Linshuang didn't want me to enter the third layer of the blood rites," Li Luo thought as he sighed in amazement. In the previous two layers, it had taken quite a bit of effort to get his hands on a few small wisps of Ancestral Blood. Meanwhile, the third layer was filled with them!
He was about to collect some more when he sensed a mighty energy wave approaching. As he looked around, he saw Zhen Linshuang's well-proportioned and large figure rushing towards him. Li Luo immediately ran, transforming into hundreds of illusions that scattered with the wind.
When Zhen Linshuang saw this, she snorted and was about to give chase when someone appeared behind her. Ao Yan had appeared to offer his counsel. "Chieftain, why not take advantage of this opportunity to gather more Ancestral Blood instead? Li Luo possesses an illusion resonance and is slippery and hard to catch. Although he can't defeat you, he can waste a lot of your time if he puts his mind to it."
"Despicable!" Zhen Linshuang exclaimed as she looked at the direction Li Luo had vanished in, her chest heaving up and down in anger. That said, she understood that Ao Yan was right, that it would be difficult to pursue Li Luo. However, she had always acted in a tyrannical fashion, and being forced to eat a loss from Li Luo made her incredibly annoyed. In the end, logic won out and she no longer bothered with Li Luo. She headed in the opposite direction, where the largest altar in the Dragon's Abyss could be found, which also served as a location to condense the Ancestral Blood.
Ao Yan slowly followed her, watching her run off with a gloomy look on his face. He then turned to the direction where Li Luo had disappeared to and frowned. He had plotted for countless years for this day, but Li Luo had made his way into his plans, turning into an unplanned variable. However, there was no way he could call off his plan at this stage. With that in mind, his face returned to its usual, indifferent look as he headed in Zhen Linshuang's direction.
Meanwhile, Li Luo sped deeper into the depths of the Dragon's Abyss, warily surveilling the area behind him. He finally breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed that Zhen Linshuang's energy fluctuations were getting weaker. He was worried that that tyrant would chase him to the ends of the world when her emotions got the better of her, wasting everyone's time. The bright side was that she was at least a little logical.
Without her interference, he could start gathering the dark yellow motes of light floating all around him. His breathing was like the rumbling of thunder, containing a terrifying suction force that created a vortex. However, he frowned soon after. This was because he realized that the motes of light were incomparably heavy! This method would gather them at a snail's pace, and who knew how long it would take to reach his goal?
Just as he was at a loss, a familiar voice rang out in his ears. "Li Luo, the Ancestral Blood within the Dragon's Abyss is incredibly weighty. Your dumb ideas won't allow you to collect much."
