Back in the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent, the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus Grand Devil King had created the "Kings May Not Enter" Heavenly Emperor Edict, which restricted the King Stage experts from the Heavenly Emperor powers from entering. As a result, the Bloodlines of Heavenly Emperor Li and Qin had suffered greatly in the resulting Other Disaster. However the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus Grand Devil King's Heavenly Emperor Edict was only capable of influencing a small region, and only within the Stygian Rain.
Meanwhile, Heavenly Emperor Jiang's edict had pervaded throughout the entire ten divine continents! Just how frightening was that?
Of course, what was most shocking was that the group being targeted by the edict was Heavenly Emperors. It wasn't strictly limited to Heavenly Emperors though—beings at the level of Heavenly Emperors would be affected as well. This included the Shadow World's Grand Devil Kings.
This was probably Heavenly Emperor Jiang's goal, to use the power of the Ancient Covenant to activate a Heavenly Emperor Edict that was capable of affecting the vast expanse of the ten divine continents. The edict would prevent the Shadow World's Grand Devil Kings from entering, in turn preventing them from starting the Origin Reversion War.
So long as no Grand Devil Kings could enter the field, the side of the humans would be able to buy time before the war started in full.
