While the battle between the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li and the Finger Winged False King was starting to unfold, the troops of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin were stationed within a ravaged city in a faraway location. The morale of the soldiers had hit rock bottom and the entire ruin was filled with a gloomy atmosphere. The Other Tide's frenzied retaliation had caused them to lose over half of their gains and many Pinnacle Dukes had fallen as well. This loss had cut bone-deep for both the Bloodlines of Heavenly Emperor Qin and Zhao.

Within the city lord's manor.

The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin's decision makers were gathered.

The group was currently surrounding a spirit mirror that was flickering with light. It was displaying a chaotic and intense battle that was unfolding at the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li's frontlines. They were closely watching what was going on there.

When they saw the Finger Winged False King, their expressions were first tinged with pain and hatred before looks of perverse satisfaction took over. After all, the losses inflicted by this creature had been dire, and they were hoping that the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li would be fed a taste of the suffering they had experienced. It was a pity that their expectations were overturned.

This was especially so when Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e had joined hands and resisted successfully. Previously, none of the ninth-grade Pinnacle Dukes were capable of forcing the Finger Winged False King back, so the hall fell deathly silent when everyone observed the duo's success. Qin Zhongyuan, Qin Zhiming, and Qin Qu had ugly expressions. Although it was unfortunate that they themselves had failed, seeing others succeed felt extra unbearable. The Finger Winged False King had slaughtered countless of their soldiers, and if the same thing had happened to the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, this would imply that the Finger Winged False King was too strong of a foe. However, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li had sent Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e, two unbelievably strong juniors, to suppress the Finger Winged False King in a fierce confrontation. If the duo successfuly suppressed it, the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin would simply look incompetent. Both of them were Heavenly Emperor powers, so why was the gap between them so big?

While some were left speechless, Qin Qu was the first to speak up and break the depressing silence. "They have not won yet. The Finger Winged False King was simply careless and has not revealed its true strength. Even though Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e have the Absolute Resonance Seed and the Genesis Seed, they might not be able to pull off a victory."

Zhao Zong nodded in agreement. "The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li might have stabilized the situation at the frontlines for now, but they are also suffering numerous casualties. So long as Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e are unable to overcome the Finger Winged False King, their losses will rack up in this endless, meat-grinding battle."

Hearing the two Kings' comments caused the rest of the elders to feel a little better about themselves. However, Qin Zhongyuan remained in thought for a while before asking Zhao Zong, "Would the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhao be able to dispatch more Pinnacle Dukes to help?"

When Zhao Zong heard those words, he paused before awkwardly replying, "It's not that the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhao is unwilling to help, but we've also suffered large losses in this fight and can't really send out more of them."

Pinnacle Dukes weren't mere cannon fodder to Heavenly Emperor powers. Nurturing one required a large amount of time and resources, and they were seen as prospective seedlings for the King Stage. Although those who were capable of making that final leap were few and far between, their importance could not be dismissed. The Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhao had originally dispatched seven Pinnacle Dukes as a show of sincerity, and the Finger Winged False King had already killed two of them. The pain from such a loss was felt even by Zhao Zong. Additionally, the situation was still rapidly changing. The Finger Winged False King was far stronger than an ordinary ninth-grade Duke, and even the Pinnacle Dukes that had been dispatched here were having second thoughts, making plans to withdraw from the operation. As a result, it was unrealistic to expect the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhao to send even more Pinnacle Dukes.
