After Xiao Mei left the room quietly, Xi Xiaye stood up slowly and looked out of the window. The sun was still high up in the vast, blue sky, creating a refreshing scene she enjoyed.
She stretched her back and grabbed her phone that was being charged and gave Mu Lingshi a call.
The call connected in just a moment and Mu Lingshi’s anxious voice reached Xi Xiaye’s ear. “You finally called back! Please come to Hospital T right now. Xiao Cheng is having a fever. Grandfather and Grandmother aren’t around and I’m freaking out. Aunt Fang and I are heading to the hospital. Come over right away. He’s throwing a tantrum!”
Xi Xiaye’s expression froze when she heard Mu Lingshi. Her face turned pale as she took a deep breath when she could hear Mu Xiaocheng wailing over the call. She then replied, “Oh dear…what happened? Please take care of him for now. I’ll rush over now!”
“Alright, we’ll be arriving at the hospital soon. Your phone was switched off just now, so I called my brother. I guess he’s coming over as well.”
“Mmm, I’ll head over now. I’ll call you again once I arrive!”
Xi Xiaye quickly switched off her laptop and left her office in a hurry after she grabbed her handbag. Thankfully, it was not during rush hour, so she arrived at the hospital as fast as she could. The doctor was checking Mu Xiaocheng when she found Mu Lingshi.
“39 degrees?! Why is he being sent in so late?” The doctor frowned.
Mu Lingshi spoke up, “I noticed that something was wrong with him after breakfast this morning, but I didn’t want to feed him any medicine without instructions, so I gave him a Fever-aid which was effective in the beginning, but the fever came back later on and got worse, so Aunt Fang and I…”
