After the morning meeting, not only was Qi Lei not punished, but he turned the situation around instead. Qi Qiming’s attitude towards him was odd for many others. Watching him change from being disgusted with his behavior to being protective was shocking for many. Even Qi Qiming’s subordinates were in disbelief, and no one knew what he was thinking.
Gu Lingsha had her doubts as well, so she went to Qi Lei’s office after the meeting adjourned. Qi Lei had wrapped up his discussion with the partners and was on his way to send them out. His eyes darkened when he noticed Gu Lingsha standing by his door.
“Can I go in and have a word with you?” Gu Lingsha looked at Qi Lei and asked.
Qi Lei squinted his eyes at her and asked coldly, “In what context?”
A light flashed in Gu Lingsha’s beautiful eyes as she answered, “As a colleague.”
Qi Lei put on a cold smile and walked back into his office. Gu Lingsha looked at him with a complicated gaze. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then she followed behind him and closed the door.
Qi Lei did not take another look at her. He tossed the document he was holding onto his table as he sat down on the chair. He pinched the space between his eyebrows and said, “State your business. I’m in a hurry.”
His cold tone held no room for a friendly chat as it was extremely business-like.
